In today's world, most cell phones are not just limited to carry on a conversation. GPS features will soon be added to this list, and will offer the capability of tracking any cell phone user.

GPS (Global Positioning System) was financed, developed and managed by the US Department of Defense. Since the late seventies, GPS has become an important aid to navigation around the world. It was first designed for the US military, GPS became publicly available years later and it is now considered an important feature in lots of consumer products.

How does GPS technology work? There are three basic ingredients that make everything work: satellites, earth interlaced scanning stations and receivers. GPS provides specially coded satellite signals that can be assembled in a GPS receiver, enabling the receiver to compute position, velocity and time.

But no matter how much of a concern this is, it seems that halfway measures will always have to be reached, so that new technologies will take their places in every one's lives.
